‘Through My Eyes’ art exhibit reflects the expression of historical sites through the eyes of our youth
Updated: Sep 18
Fayetteville, NC - In celebration of the artistic creations made by the talented youth enrolled in the Greater Life Of Fayetteville’s I AM YOU-nique Summer Academy program, the 5th Annual ‘Through My Eyes’ Youth Art Exhibit will display over 20+ art pieces reflecting the expressions of historical sites in the Cumberland County community as envisioned through the eyes of the youth.

A free public viewing of the art pieces will be displayed from July 27 to August 3, 2025, at Taste Of West Africa, 116 Person Street, in downtown Fayetteville, NC. Viewing hours will be Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm and Wednesday through Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm.
The purpose of ‘Through My Eyes’ is for diverse youth communities to learn more about the historical significance and value of the places where they live, play, and attend school. Participating youth (ages 6 to 14) enrolled in the summer program receive real-world experience and community exposure through media and social notoriety for their artwork on display.
“We are grateful to host this art exhibit for another year”, says Georgeanna Pinckney, Executive Director of Greater Life of Fayetteville. “Our youth artists are excited to have their artwork displayed and shared on social platforms for the community to enjoy. It also helps build exposure for our amazing summer academy program.”
Voting for the art pieces will be held at Orange Street School on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Winners will be announced on Sunday, July 27, during the exhibit.
The 5th Annual ‘Through My Eyes’ Youth Art Exhibit is presented by the Greater Life of Fayetteville, Inc.
