FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Human trafficking remains a global epidemic that victimizes approximately 30+ million people each year. Continued education and awareness are the greatest defenses in preventing and combating the predatory behaviors that lead to victimization. Communities are invited to attend ‘EDUCATION On Human Trafficking', a community safety workshop conducted by Greater Life Of Fayetteville | PIN People In Need on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 600 Orange Street in Fayetteville, NC. Community session begins at 5:30 PM.

Although there is no single profile for a trafficking victim or a predator, guest speaker Judge Toni S. King, Chief District Court Judge - 14th Judicial District Cumberland County, will encourage communities to remain vigilant through education and awareness to identify predatory behaviors that typically target marginalized communities and the vulnerable.

Attendees will learn how victims become controlled, coerced, and exploited by predators for the intent of profit, forced labor or prostitution, domestic servitude, or criminal exploitation. Human rights advocates will provide local and national resources to help protect trafficking victims and children.

Community safety workshop topics will cover:

  • Identifying Signs of Human Trafficking

  • Misconceptions and Predatory Behavior

  • Victimization and Risk Factors

  • Social Media Safety

  • Legal Repercussions, Advocacy, and Resources

Serious crime deserves serious consequences. Now is the time to get equipped. If you or someone you know is a victim of human trafficking, call the 24-hour National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or text 233733.

'EDUCATION On Human Trafficking' is presented by Greater Life Of Fayetteville | PIN People In Need, in partnership with Judge Toni S. King.
